Politics Nigeria :Apc-presidential-primaries-final-battle

Failure is not an option. Hopes are high. Optimism is the word and all is set now for the great contest.
Wednesday, December 10, 2015 is the day. Like a football game, it is their semi final. And so, they have lined up for a primary election to secure the ticket to contest the presidential election in 2015.
But the five of them cannot all make it to the final. The ticket is one and must be clinched by one of them. They have passed the stage of consensus. The idea had
come up prior to now but it was jettisoned. To them, the idea sounded undemocratic.
The popular Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos State is the venue where former Head of State, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari ,rtd, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, governors of Kano and Imo States, Dr. Rabiu
Kwankwaso and Chief Rochas Okorocha, and the publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah would “clash”.
Over 8000 delegates are expected to cast their votes, meaning that whatever happens, one person must secure at least a vote.
They are in the pursuit of the ticket of APC- the nation’s leading opposition political party.
Primary election Anyone who emerges from the list would eventually challenge President Goodluck Jonathan on February 14,
2015.
This would be the first presidential primary election of the APC since its formation and registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on July 1, 2013.
With the exception of Sam Nda-Isaiah, who can be likened to a greenhorn in the race, the others are all “old soldiers” who had at one time or the other participated in politics or wielded political power. In fact, they posses different intimidating profiles.
Meanwhile, the aspirants and their respective camps are already in Lagos for the event.
Buhari and Atiku’s camps told Vanguard via SMS that hopes are high, adding that they would be victorious. Mrs. Ireti Ojekhoa, Head, Information Management Unit of Buhari Support Organizations, BSO, said “The mood
is high. We are confident that we will win. Delegates are sure to vote for our principal”.
Similarly, Alhaji Garba Shehu, head, Atiku Media Office in Abuja said: “We are fine. There are very good feelings here. We are doing extremely well. We are optimistic
that the outcome will vindicate our feelings.”
Though the camps of Kwankwaso, Okorocha and Isaiah could not be reached, it was gathered that they are also confident of victory.
To forestall acrimony that may arise after the primaries, the APC last week adopted an unusual measure. The party made the aspirants to sign a letter of
commitment compelling them to remain in the party even after losing out in the exercise.
The undertaking also mandated them to collapse their individual campaign structures into that of the party for
effective campaign of the eventual standard-bearer. The statement by Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, reads: ‘’I on behalf of myself and my primary campaign organization
undertake to accept the outcome of the primaries and actively support whoever emerges as the winner and shall not defect to any other political party or in anyway obstruct the smooth prosecution of the presidential
campaigns.
‘’I further affirm that during the campaign and later in government, I shall be guided strictly by the party manifesto. In the event of my nomination, my campaign team will immediately be collapsed into the party’s
campaign structure for a properly united and focused presidential campaign.”
Those who will decide party torchbearer
All members of the Board of Trustees (BOT)
National Chairman and all members of the national executive council Serving and past Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who are members of the party. Serving and past members of the party who are members of the party, serving and past Speakers, Deputy Speakers and other principal officers of the state Houses of Assembly who are members of the party.
Members of the state’s working committee including those of the Federal Capital Territory.
All party chairmen and Secretaries of all Local
Government Authorities/Local Council Development Authorities in the country.
All elected chairmen of Local Government Councils/ Local Council Development Authorities in the country who are members of the party. Three elected delegates at least one who must be a woman from each Local Government Area/Local

DEADLY RELATIONSHIPS:Gay Kills Partner With A Screw Driver In Abuja Hotel

One Mohammed Snu, suspected to be gay, was killed by his alleged partner, Mohammed Umar, in a hotel room in Garki, Abuja

According to Punch, the crime was carried out last Thursday, December 4, as the assaulter stabbed the victim multiple times in the ribs with a screw driver.

It is reported that Snu used to be a regular guest at the hotel and on the fateful day invited Umar for sexual intercourse. However the situation turned violent when the victim refused to pay for the second round of sex.

A source from the hotel disclosed that the two had sex twice, but Snu did not want to pay for the second time, which caused an argument and a fight.

The source, who pleaded for anonymity, narrated how the body of the victim was discovered.

“The man had just come back from a mosque where he went for prayers with his partner when we heard a loud noise from his room and a voice saying ‘ya kuri (please, don’t be angry)’. By the time we forced the door open, we saw Umar standing naked and Snu lying dead on the bed with stab injuries on his body. We immediately called the police and Umar was arrested.”

The police led the hotel manager to the station for interrogation over the incident, which generated an uproar among the residents who gathered to discuss the murder.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Peter Okechukwu, confirmed the incident, having provided however a bit different version of the tragedy.  According to him, Snu complained of pain in the ribs and invited Umar to the room.

“In the course of the massage, Snu asked Umar to undress for sex, and from there, they engaged in a scuffle leading to the stabbing of the deceased by the suspect. It was the loud noise from their room that attracted the hotel workers.

“When our men got to the hotel, we found the deceased and the suspect naked. Investigations have commenced and we will soon know what actually transpired behind the closed door.”

It would be recalled that homosexual relations themselves became a crime in Nigeria, when in the beginning of this year President Goodluck Jonathan signed the anti-gay bill, which stipulates 14-year punishment for the violators

HARRY POTTER CONTINUES; Harry Potter Lives On And So Must His Education

JK Rowling has announced that in the days leading up until Christmas, she'll be releasing twelve brand new Harry Potter stories. But as we all know, no amount of magic can bring back the hat-sorting days of yesteryear
when Malfoy styled his hair like Gordon Gekko in Wall Street. Being that Harry, Ron, and Hermione graduated from Hogwarts so many years ago, the continuation of these stories actually finds them in continuing
education, at a very special school called Hogwarts Tech...where most of the teachers look like Hagrid but with intense body odor.
Here are just a few of the exciting courses that Harry and his friends will be taking:

The Wizardry of Automotive Repair

The Dark Arts and Administrative Assistant Training

Tourism and The Average Muggle

The Horcrux And Hotel Management (online only)

Computer Science And Spells

Bookkeeping And Accounting, And The Phoenix

Welding and The Elder Wand

Reality TV Production (for Death-Eaters only)

Principles of Quidditch Economics

Chicano Studies.

So basically they have to improve their GPAs before
Snape is diagnosed with dementia.

Justin Bieber Romance Rumors--Find Out If the Model and Singer Are Dating!

Hailey Baldwin hangs with some of Hollywood's hottest stars--she counts fellow models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner as BFFs--but it's her relationship with Justin
Bieber that recently became the talk of the town. Various websites have reported that the blond buds are secretly dating, so when E! News caught up with Hailey at the
Exodus premiere in New York City Sunday, the model cleared up romance rumors.
In the past few weeks, Hailey and Justin spent even more time together, leading many to wonder if they've taken their friendship to the next level. (Their increase in photos on Instagram and Shots has only added fuel to
the fire.) Just last week, Hailey and Justin were spotted having lunch at Spago in Beverly Hills and sitting courtside at an L.A. Clippers game. The stars were also photographed shopping at Target in L.A. before spending over an hour playing arcade games at Family
Amusement Corporation. So, are they dating or not? "I've known him since I was so young--since I was like 13--and we've just been good friends over the years," the 18-year-old explained. "We have just stayed close and
there's nothing more to it than that."
No word yet what Hailey thinks of the "Boyfriend" singer's platinum hair color.
Justin, 20, was most recently linked to his on-and-off love Selena Gomez, 22.
Hailey, meanwhile, would rather focus on her burgeoning modeling career than on refuting rumors about her alleged love life. "The cool thing is Hailey has mostly
generated all of her own momentum," her father, actor and All-Star Celebrity Apprentice contestant Stephen Baldwin, proudly told E! News.

Given her body of work, she shows no signs of slowing
down. "I'm stoked for 2015!" Hailey tweeted Dec. 4.

EBOLA NEWS UPDATE.

Its latest estimate of the cumulative number of cases since the start of the outbreak in March now stands at 7,780 in Sierra Leone and 7,719 in Liberia.
In Guinea, the figure is 2,283. The virus has killed more than 6,300 people in the three West African countries.
Just over half the reported deaths have been in Liberia, the WHO says. On Monday, the organisation said its 60-day goals for tackling Ebola - treating 70% of patients and burying 70% of victims by 1 December - had been largely met in the three countries at the centre of the outbreak. However it also said that the treatment figure in Sierra Leone had fallen below the mark. The West African outbreak of Ebola is the deadliest ever.sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, the Ebola outbreak has halted malaria programmes in some areas and put huge strain on health services.
“The collapse of health systems has affected all core malaria interventions and is threatening to reverse recent gains,” said WHO director-general Margaret Chan.
Health workers had been increasingly using simple tests to diagnose malaria on the spot, to better target treatments. But these have been suspended in Ebola areas.
Many people with malaria are also staying away from clinics, and if “they are not getting treated, you can be sure that mortality is going to increase”, said Richard Cibulskis, lead author of the malaria report.
The total death toll from malaria across the three countries was expected to be about 20,000 a year before the outbreak. Cibulskis would not predict a figure now. More than 6,100 people have died from Ebola in the Region in the past year. Aside from the direct consequences, the resurgence of
malaria could also harm the fight against Ebola because the two have similar symptoms, making it difficult to diagnose the deadly virus, the WHO has said.
UNICEF last week launched a campaign to provide anti-malarial drugs to 2.4 million people in Sierra Leone, while global aid agency Doctors Without Borders is conducting a smaller scale effort in Liberia. Another issue threatening progress on malaria across the world is the rise of insecticide resistance, which has been reported in 49 countries since 2010 — 39 of which reported resistance to two or more insecticide classes.
“Emerging drug- and insecticide-resistance continues to pose a major threat, and if left unaddressed, could trigger an upsurge in deaths,”
Please keep yourself and the envuroment clean. Report suspicious illness to medical center. Let's us fight this deadly disease together.

JAIL BREAKS: NIGERIA PRISONS

The Nigerian police have reported a third jail break within two months released more than 200 prisoners from their cells. Al Jazeera reports on Monday that armed men attacked a jail in the central city of Minna on Saturday. By Sunday morning, only 10 of the escaped prisoners were recaptured.

For now, authorities suspect Boko Haram. Hundreds of people suspected of having ties to Boko Haram have been held in Nigeria jails and it is thought that these prison breaks are the group’s way of getting those individuals back on the outside. If this is the case, Boko Haram isn’t likely to have acted alone. A former U.S. assistant secretary of state for African affairs stated that this prison break likely required the help of corrupt officials and involved payouts. He notes that the prison break is outside of the area the group usually operates. A government that doesn’t pay its police force or military members well has contributed to the rise in corrupt officials.

However, a security source told Reuters that Boko Haram’s involvement isn’t being highly considered. The source said, “I doubt there were many high profile Boko Haram suspects being held in Minna.”

The previous jailbreaks freed more than 300 inmates earlier this month and 144 inmates back on Nov. 3, when the jailbreakers bombed a wall allowing them to escape

Man Flees Home After Raping Daughter.

 his 14-year-old daughter.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim was raped last week Tuesday in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos State where Uzor lived with his second wife.

It was gathered that the victim’s mother died about seven years ago after which she started living with her grandmother.

However, when the old woman became plagued with ill health, she was said to have been taken to the Ogijo area of Ogun State, where she stayed with an aunt.

But the aunt, three weeks ago, reportedly sent her to her father in Ebute Meta, saying she wanted to travel.

The Primary four pupil in an interview with our correspondent said her father defiled her while she was in the kitchen.

She said, “My mother died seven years ago. I did not know my father because I grew up with my grandmother. It was when I was 12 years old that I was told I had a father.

“Three weeks ago, my aunty told me I would stay with my father for a few days because she was travelling and did not want to leave me alone at home. That was how I went to stay with my father.

“On Tuesday, around 6.30pm, my father asked me to warm the soup on the stove. He suddenly followed me inside the kitchen and shut the door. I thought he wanted to cane me, and I started begging him.

“Instead, he removed his clothes and pulled my skirt and paints. Then he had sex with me. It was painful and blood gushed out from my private parts. He then said he was sorry.”

The victim said her father gave her N500 for treatment after she complained of pains in her legs.

She added that he took her to a traditional doctor who prescribed some concoction for her.

There is a helicopter inside the aircraft grounded in Kano. It also contains various military hardwares Nigerian officials suspect to be arms, ammunitions and special equipment.

SWEDEN; “We respect Nigeria but we still feel we can beat them.”

Sweden coach Roland Larsson insists his side’s semi-final clash with Nigeria at Rashid Stadium in Dubai on Tuesday will be “a completely different game” to the 3-3 result when the teams met in the group stages.
World Cup debutantes Sweden twice went ahead against three-time champions Nigeria to lead 2-0 and 3-2 before the Golden Eaglets fought back for a draw in Group F last month. It was the only occasion so far in the tournament that Nigeria have looked beatable.
However, Larsson is by no means stepping into this fixture on an overconfident note, having watched Nigeria rack up 20 goals so far.
“It’s another game,” said Larsson of the semi-final. “We had a good first game against them but that’s history. Now we are at the end of the tournament and there are a lot of new aspects to the game like tired players. The best team will be the one that has recovered the best.”
Asked what his side had learned from their first match against Nigeria, Larsson said:
“We learned that if you don’t stay focused against Nigeria for the full 90 minutes, you will make a mistake and they will punish you.
“You have to follow a plan — run, fight and cover — especially to take care of defence. But defence alone doesn’t win games, so we also have to score and we scored three times against Nigeria, so we are satisfied about that. Nigeria have high quality individual skills and very good players. They play very fast passing football and have many tools to score from — the centre, wings, crosses and counters. It’s a complete team for attacking. We respect Nigeria but we still feel we can beat them.”

Creating The Perfect Day: A New Look At Time Management

Have you ever tried to have a perfect day and it didn’t work out as you planned it?

The good news is that if you can visualize a perfect day, you can make it happen. But you may have to change the way you think. First and foremost, you need to understand that event management, not time management, is the critical factor for creating the perfect day.

As Joey Reiman says in Thinking for a Living, “Time cannot be expanded, accumulated, or mortgaged. It’s the one thing that’s beyond our control. We can only learn to tame the time we have and make it work for us rather than against us.”

If you tame time today, you will transform your opportunities tomorrow. In the process, you will begin to earn more money in less time with less stress.

In order to create and maintain your perfect day, you must also understand the following seven truths about time:
  •  People say all the time that they don’t have time, yet how is that possible when they have all the time there is?
  •  Most people never develop true freedom because they are chained to their confining and dis-empowering paradigms.
  •  The concept of time management is overrated. Event management is the name of the game.
  •  If you don’t know what’s important to you, you will do the things that aren’t.
  •  It doesn’t matter where you work. It matters how you work where you are.
  •  Run your business or it will run you.
  •  Focus on quality – it creates massive freedom.

As you’re thinking more about these time truths, you need to recognize that right now there is a past you, present you, and future you. The past you is the person you think you’ve been up until now. The present you is the person you think you are right now. The future you is the person you think you will become. The present you is really a combination of your past you and future you. This is where each of us differs.

Do you find yourself spending more time wallowing in your past than focusing on your future? If so, then chances are you have become frozen in a past image of yourself and predictable in your thoughts and behavior. You also make what has already happened more important than your future possibilities.

You need to realize that your uniqueness starts in your future you. When you are committed to your future, you are committed to your vision of who you intend to become. If you stay focused on your past, your unique ability will never have the chance to develop.

So, which you are you committed to – the you you are now or the you you can become?

If you tame time today, you will transform your opportunities tomorrow. In the process, you will begin to earn more money in less time with less stress.
In order to create and maintain your perfect day, you must also understand the following seven truths about time:
1. People say all the time that they don’t have time, yet how is that possible when they have all the time there is?
2. Most people never develop true freedom because they are chained to their confining and disempowering paradigms.
3. The concept of time management is overrated. Event management is the name of the game.
4. If you don’t know what’s important to you, you will do the things that aren’t.
5. It doesn’t matter where you work. It matters how you work where you are.
6. Run your business or it will run you.
7. Focus on quality – it creates massive freedom.

ANOTHER PLANE CRASH AVERTED.

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport AbujaAnother air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja on Monday as a Med-View Airlines aircraft from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja.
The pilot told the passengers that he took to the air again to avoid a collision with another aircraft on the tarmac.
The airline Flight VL2104 took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm.
The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts but the pilot suddenly took off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground.
The plane had 150 passengers on board. After about three minutes of gaining altitude, the pilot announced that he decided to take off again to avoid colliding with an aircraft that was on ground.
He said that after he had been granted clearance to land, it was later discovered that the other aircraft was not fast enough, hence his decision to take off.
The aircraft hovered for another 20 minutes in the air before finally landing at about 1.30pm.
While the drama lasted, the passengers were panic-stricken, especially when the plane entered into turbulent weather on air.
An eyewitness who gave an account said, that among the passengers were five different complete families.
One of the passengers, a nursing mother, who was breastfeeding her son at the time the pilot took off again reportedly withdrew the breast from the boy’s mouth and started praying profusely while the baby’s cry rented the air.
When the plane finally landed, the passengers struggled to disembark.
“Are you still sitting down? Let me rush down in case it will suddenly take off again,” a middle-aged man was heard teasing one of his co-passengers.
The incident came less than a month after an Embraer aircraft operated by Associated Airlines with registration number SCD 361, conveying the corpse of a former Governor of Ondo State, Chief Olusegun Agagu, from Lagos to Akure for burial, crashed on October 3 shortly after take-off at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos.
Thirteen passengers in the crashed plane were killed, including a commissioner in Ondo State, Deji Falae.

Kim Kardashian Is Engaged to Kanye West!

Kim Kardashian got the birthday surprise of a lifetime.

The E! star is engaged to longtime love Kanye West, the rapper popping the question in front of their friends and family at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Kanye, whose Yeezus Tour touches down in nearby San Jose tomorrow night, rented out the stadium for the occasion. (For all the details on Kim & Kanye's surprise engagement, tune into E! News Tuesday at 7 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.)
And here we thought Kim's 33rd birthday bash at Tao this Friday was going to be the major event of the week. Kanye sure figured out a way to top last year's chocolate cake!

But remember, that's how these kids roll—with style and spontaneity. It was just last December that baby North's proud papa revealed to an arena full of people in Atlantic City that he and Kim were expecting a child together.
They welcomed their daughter on June 15 and it's been nothing but onward and upward for the happy couple ever since.
Kim laid low for a couple of months, keeping both herself and North out of the public eye, but once she was back in the spotlight, it was as if she'd never left. And not long after Kim and Kanye were spotted out toting a baby carrier, North West made her long-awaited debut in August when daddy showed off a picture of her on Kris Jenner's talk show.
Asked by Kris if he remembered it being "love at first sight" when he first saw Kim years ago, Kanye said, "Oh yeah, definitely."
The couple have actually been the subject of marriage rumors for over a year, with Kris telling E! News all the way back in August 2012 that the family "adored" Kanye and "we think they make an amazing couple. We just want them to be happy."

"[Marriage] is something I know that we both want in our future, but I don't have this sense of urgency about it," the twice-divorced Kim herself said in the February 2013 issue of Cosmopolitan. "I have this best friend who understands me and helps me through all my tough experiences, and vice versa, you know? It just feels like this is it for me."
